Larry spoke to the group about The Initiative for Empowerment and Economic Independence (IEEI) and how it empowers Indiana college students with physical disabilities to find gainful, sustainable and equitable employment by engaging qualified students with physical disabilities into comprehensive and diverse internship opportunities. The February 6, 2018 meeting was the second session in our “Roadmap to Disability Inclusion” series. James Emmett, Corporate Disability Consultant who work with the Poses Family Foundation, was our guest speaker. We had an interactive dialogue on building an effective business case for disability inclusion and referred to the “ Guide to Disability Inclusion' created by the Poses Family Foundation. “Inclusion Drives Innovation” – National Disability Employment Awareness Month Celebration!
Twenty three people enjoyed a National Disability Employment Awareness Month Celebration breakfast and vibrant discussion at Tangram on October 10, 2017. Host of the event was Kathy Bernhardt, Managing Director, Tangram Business Resourcing and Chair of the IndyBLN. Speakers included Maurice Taylor of Eli Lilly & Company, Rachel Stephens, The Huntington National Bank, Jeannice Shobe of Fed Ex and Kristina Blankenship of the State of Indiana. Organizations represented in the audience included United Way, Carrier, Bosma, City of Fishers, Anthem, Kroger, Engaging Solutions, Marshalls/TJ Maxx, Susan Tinder White Consulting, U.S. Federal Courts and other companies committed to hiring individuals with disabilities.

Angie Vandersteen and Jonie Fairbanks, from Tangram led a dynamic presentation to members on the fast growing Workforce Accelerator that you can view at workforceaccelerator.com. This tool is a Job Matching database that enables employers to find applicants with disabilities who meet their needs and helps people with disabilities find employers wanting their skill sets. Attached are two documents that explain more; one is a flyer and the other is a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the Accelerator.
